Contributor Agreements

Transfering rights to The Commons Conservancy

Laws change, certainly in a global context. Copyright can be an unintended blocker to merge projects, and sometimes loopholes are found that do not respect the spirit of free and open source software. What seems the best license now, might not be the best ten years from now.

The Commons Conservancy allows projects to set up proper governance in the public interest. The Commons Conservancy recommends but does not impose transfer of ownerships to its Programmes. Below you find a number of contributor license agreements, programmes are free to reuse these or create their own (for instance through tools like https://contributoragreements.org).
